AQUATIC POSITIONS:
**Both lifeguard and shallow water lifeguard courses and recertification courses being taught by SomerSplash and the City of Somerset will be announced soon. Please check back for times and dates when these courses will be held.
Lifeguard
For information on lifeguarding classes feel free to contact SomerSplash Waterpark or the American Red Cross.
Lifeguard Description: At SomerSplash they will be required to have current lifesaving certification from a nationally recognized certification agency. Agencies which will be accepted are: American Red Cross (preferred), NASCO, and Ellis. All water staff will be tested on their knowledge of aquatic safety and skills.
Guards are required to demonstrate compliance with all responsibilities and duties as listed in the job description at all times while employed by The City of Somerset – SomerSplash.
Requirements: Maintain current certification in Lifeguarding, Professional CPR/AED, and Standard First Aid. Submit photocopies of all required certifications to SomerSplash prior to the first day of employment. This course will be taught at SomerSplash Waterpark. In this course you will receive certifications in the following: Lifeguarding, Professional CPR/AED, and Standard First Aid. This course is free to those that are hired at SomerSplash Waterpark as a Lifeguard.
Must be 16 years old. All applications must be returned to City Hall.
Shallow Water Lifeguard
Shallow Water Lifeguard Description: They are able to guard/watch any body of water in the waterpark 5 FT deep or less, everything except Wave Pool. Also, shallow water lifeguards may work at the top of the slide towers to regulate the use of the slides by patrons. They have knowledge in prevention and skills needed in order to help prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies in shallow water up to 5 feet deep.
Requirements: Must be able to swim. Maintain current certification as a Shallow Water Lifeguard, Professional CPR/AED, and Standard First Aid. This course will be taught at SomerSplash Waterpark. In this course you will receive certifications in the following: Shallow Water Lifeguarding, Professional CPR/AED, and Standard First Aid. This course is free to those that are hired at SomerSplash Waterpark as a Shallow Water Lifeguard.

NON-AQUATIC POSITIONS:
Admissions
Description: Admission staff at SomerSplash may be employed in one of the following areas: Ticket Office, Gift Shop, Tiki’s Twist, or Dippin’ Dots.
All Admission staff are required to demonstrate compliance with all responsibilities and duties as listed in the job description at all times while employed by The City of Somerset.
Must be 15 years old. All applications must be returned to City Hall or the Waterpark.
Food & Beverage
Description: Food & Beverage staff at SomerSplash may be employed in the kitchen as a prep cook, line cook, grill cook, cleaner/food runner, or cashier.
Food & Beverage staff must comply with all responsibilities and duties as listed in the job description at all times while employed by The City of Somerset.
Must be 15 years old. All applications must be returned to City Hall or the Waterpark.
Maintenance
Description: Maintenance staff at SomerSplash may be employed to help maintain the property and landscape, clean pools, and other small maintenance projects.
Maintenance staff must comply with all responsibilities and duties as listed in the job description at all times while employed by The City of Somerset.
